Miramar Beach

Miramar beach is the closest to the city of Panaji, also the most visited by the tourists. Many people, joggers, youngsters come to this beach every day. Originally named Porta de Gaspar Dias by the Portuguese, the name was then changed to Miramar. Situated at the confluence of the Mandovi River and the Arabian Sea, it is a small beach that occasionally hosts some events. It is here where the ashes of the First Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Dayanand Bandodkar are buried.

There are number of Cafe’s opened along the beach. You can have some chaat, steaming shwarmas and fried corns and ice cream if you may. Miramar is the most crowded beach throughout the season. The best time of the day to visit is at dawn if you love peace surroundings.
